The Temple of Philae

This large temple complex, relocated to the island of Agilika with the building of the High Dam in Aswan, features the magnificent Philae Temple constructed over a three-century period, by the Greek Ptolemaic dynasty and the Roman Principate.  The setting is among the most beautiful in Egypt.

The principal deity of the temple complex was the goddess Isis. It’s various shrines and sanctuaries, which include a temple to Hathour, a Birth House and two pylons, glorify all the deities which enclosed in the Isis and Osiris myth.
